Oatmeal Chocolate Cookies Baking with Kids

Here's a recipe of oatmeal chocolate cookies that your kids will surely love to bake. Because it's easy as 123.  Let them do the dirty works of baking..... :)

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cup brown sugar (usually, it should be white but I opted for brown because it's..well, healthier :)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 cup dark chocolate bits
1/2 cup peanuts

Mixing the dough:

In a small bowl, combine the eggs and vanilla.

In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Add in eggs and vanilla mixture. Stir until light and fluffy.

In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt.

Add the butter mixture to the flour mixture. Stir in the chocolate bits, oatmeal and peanuts.

At this point, don't mind how messy the kids are making their homemade specialties. It's part of the fun! :)

Baking the cookies:

Pre-heat oven to 250 degrees.

Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about 1 1/2 inches apart.

Bake until the cookies are golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.

Makes about 50 cookies. Transfer the cookies onto the cooling wire racks.

Tip: For tastier oatmeal cookies, you can add in Snickers chocolate bars. Dice them and add into the choco bits and peanuts.

♥♥♥ Kids love to mold their cookies into the cutest shapes they can imagine. ♥♥♥

Hmmm kids will surely love these cookies 'cause they made 'em themselves. :)
