Book Review on Rich Dad, Poor Dad

"Maganda tong binabasa ko o. Try mo basahin.", excited kong sabi sa kanya.

"Ayoko, tamad akong magbasa", sabi nya.

Mahirap.

Sige na nga kwento ko na lang.

For a start, gagawa na lang muna ako ng personal book review sa mga magagandang books na nabasa ko.

Sabi nila, you cannot learn to swim just by reading a book. You have to go out there.

Likewise, you won't learn invaluable lessons in any business school unless you venture into a business of your own. Kumbaga, learn it hands on.

"Most of the time, life does not talk to you. It just sort of pushes you around. Each push is life saying, 'Wake up. There's something I want you to learn.'"

"Some give up. Others fight. A few learn the lesson and move on. They welcome life pushing them around. To these few people, it means they need and want to learn something. They learn and move on. Most quit, and a few like you fight."

"...If you think I'm the problem, then you have to change me. If you realize that you're the problem, then you can change yourself, learn something and grow wiser. Most people want everyone else in the world to change but themselves. Let me tell you, it's easier to change yourself than everyone else"

"If people are prepared to be flexible, keep an open mind and learn, they will grow richer and richer through the changes. If they think, money will solve problems, I am afraid those people will have a rough ride. Intelligence solves problems and produces money. Money without financial intelligence is money soon gone."

"I really do not expect most people to agree with it because a nice home is an emotional thing. And when it comes to money, high emotions tend to lower financial intelligence."

" So why would you want to increase your financial intelligence? Because you want to be the kind of person who creates your own luck. You take whatever happens and make it better....If you are the kind of person who is waiting for the right thing to happen, you might wait for a long time"

"A few individuals are getting ridiculously rich from nothing, just ideas and agreements."

"My overall philosophy is to plant seeds inside my asset column. That is my formula. I start small and plant seeds. Some grow; some don't"

"The idea in anything is to use your technical knowlege, wisdom and love of the game to cut the odds down, to lower the risk. Of course, there is always risk...."

" The skills of selling and marketing are difficult for most people primarily due to their fear of rejection. The better you are at communicating, negotiating and handling your fear of rejection, the easier life is...."

"If you hate risk and worry....start early"

"It often takes great courage to not let rumors and talk of doom and gloom affect your doubts and fears."

"Rich dad explained that criticism blinded while analysis opened eyes..."

"'I can't afford it' shut down your brain. It didn't have to think anymore. 'How can I afford it?' opened up the brain. Forced it to think and search for answers."

"How can I afford to never work again?' And my mind began to kick out answers and solutions."

"We live in the Information Age. Information is priceless."

"Find someone who has done what you want to do."

"Learn from history"
